Day 4 of pulled pork week, chummies! To switch things up a bit so the hubby and I don’t get completely sick of pulled pork (blasphemy, I know), I decided to do an asian inspired dish. I’ve attempted many asian inspired sauces over the years and I have to say this is by far my favorite. Sauces are tricky to perfect and I’m not at all saying I’ve mastered this, but I think this is the most balanced asian sauce I’ve made so far. It’s sweet, salty, and a little spicy.
Here is a printable version of the recipe if you literally can’t even right now. I hope you literally can! You literally can even! Pulled Pork Asian Bowls
Ingredients:
If you want things extra saucy double this recipe.
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tbs hoisin sauce
1Tbs fish sauce
1 Tbs sesame oil
2 Tbs brown sugar
3 garlic cloves
1 tsp freshly ground ginger
2 tsp Sriracha
2 cups pulled pork
White rice (1 cup for my husband and me)
Green onions for garnish
Green beans on the side or whatever veggie you’re feeling.
Directions:
- Add the soy sauce, garlic, fish sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, ginger, brown sugar, and Sriracha to a small pot or sauce pan on medium heat. Whew that’s a lot of ingredients!
2. Add your two cups of pulled pork and let everything heat up. Make sure to coat all the pork with your awesome sauce!
Mix it all up!
3. Serve on top of rice and green beans (broccoli is awesome too). And garnish with green onion. If you couldn’t tell already, I’ve been on a green onion kick lately.
I hope you’re still enjoying pulled pork week! Let me know if you try this, or have any suggestions for other pulled pork creations! “Bye bye, boys [and girls]! Have fun stromin’ da castle!”-Princess Bride
